When the non profit organization ‘Friends of the Ohio Governor’s Residence’ contacted us about this project I knew it would be a great opportunity to add our craftsmanship into the history of our state. This item was made in honor of First Lady Frances Strickland for her appreciation of music and for being the first person to bring music to the home.
This item has a wide variety of custom carvings to meld the design in with that of the Jacobean Style that the home was built after. The music holder has carvings that mimic the ones seen along the main staircase while the legs mimic decorative brackets seen throughout the home. To add greater depth and detail to the piece, we added texturing to the flat recesses of the carving to give it a uniquely handmade appearance and stunning detail.
